Wheelbase extended to 2650mm: More real-life photos of the all-new BYD Seagull revealed.

We recently obtained additional real-life photos of the all-new BYD Seagull, a compact car from the brand. The vehicle has already completed the filing process with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT); it measures 4,205 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,650 mm—an increase of 150 mm in wheelbase and 425 mm in length compared to the current model.

The vehicle adopts a brand-new design language, featuring a closed-off front grille, multiple angular lines, and polygonal light clusters that give it a stylish, modern look. Additionally, a new dark green exterior color option will be available. Regarding driver assistance, the vehicle is equipped with a roof-mounted LiDAR module; it is expected to offer an optional upgrade to the "Tianshen Zhiyan" (Eye of the Gods) B-series LiDAR-based driving assistance system, enabling features such as urban and highway navigation assist and automatic parking—including capabilities like navigating traffic lights, autonomous lane changing, yielding to pedestrians, and passing through ETC toll gates.

Viewed from the side, the vehicle features semi-concealed door handles, glossy black wheels, and a design that hides the B, C, and D pillars, creating a distinctively sporty aesthetic. At the rear, it adopts a new taillight design and incorporates an aggressive rear diffuser trim panel, further enhancing its sporty character. In terms of dimensions, the all-new BYD Seagull measures 4,205 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm; compared to the current model, the body has been lengthened by 425 mm and the wheelbase extended by 150 mm, bringing its overall size very close to that of the BYD Dolphin.

In terms of the interior, and judging by previously revealed spy shots, the vehicle adopts a brand-new design language that places greater emphasis on storage capacity. The center console features a larger display screen; while the traditional instrument cluster has been removed, some physical buttons remain. A wireless charging pad is included, and the lower section houses a massive central storage area. The new two-spoke steering wheel sports a cleaner, more minimalist look.

In terms of powertrain, the all-new BYD Seagull remains a pure electric vehicle, equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous drive motor (model TZ164XYB) manufactured by Zhengzhou BYD Auto Co., Ltd., delivering a maximum power output of 95 kW. Regarding the battery, it utilizes a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, with both the cells and the assembly produced by Shaoxing FinDreams Battery Co., Ltd.
