All-Electric AMG GT SUV to Debut on October 17 with Up to 1,500 Horsepower

We have learned from official sources that the all-electric AMG GT SUV will make its global debut on October 17 at the 140th-anniversary celebration held at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart. Built on the AMG.EA electric platform and featuring a tri-motor electric powertrain, the vehicle is expected to deliver up to 1,500 horsepower, with initial customer deliveries projected for early 2027.

Based on earlier teaser images and spy shots, the new model is expected to draw design inspiration from the recently launched AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, featuring a front end distinguished by highly recognizable LED daytime running lights. Additionally, the vehicle will sport wide wheel arches, a muscular hood, and a massive front grille—likely featuring multiple vertical slats. At the rear, it will be equipped with round LED taillights, with internal lighting elements arranged to resemble the three-pointed star emblem.

In terms of powertrain, the vehicle will feature a lightweight, compact, and high-energy-density transverse-flux motor from the British company YASA; this motor achieves a power density of 59 kW/kg while weighing just 12.7 kg. Reports indicate the new model is expected to be equipped with a three-motor setup delivering a maximum output of 1,000 kW (1,360 hp), a range of 460 km, and the ability to add 400 km of range with a five-minute charge; it may also feature an electronic sound system that simulates the note of a V8 engine. Additionally, plans are in place to launch a higher-performance version with a maximum output expected to reach 1,500 hp.
