Featuring a brand-new naming system and comprehensive interior and exterior upgrades, the all-new BYD Tang is set to debut at the Chengdu Motor Show.

On August 18, BYD officially announced that the all-new generation Tang will make its debut at the 2026 Chengdu Motor Show, which opens on August 21. The new model will form a dual-vehicle product lineup alongside the "Da Tang" (Grand Tang); a new naming system will be adopted subsequently, and the vehicle is scheduled for official market launch in the second half of 2026.

Based on previously released MIIT filing images, the vehicle draws its overall design inspiration from the "Dragon Face" aesthetic. It features a closed-off front grille flanked by upswept headlights and a central chrome strip spanning the width of the front end, creating an imposing yet stylish look. At the rear, the vehicle employs a full-width taillight assembly with the BYD logo positioned in the center; this is complemented by a large spoiler that adds visual depth. In terms of driver assistance, the vehicle will come standard with the "Eye of the Gods" (Tian Shen Zhi Yan) system.

In terms of dimensions, it measures 5,045 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, and 1,760 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm and front and rear tracks of 1,700 mm; this indicates that the all-new Tang is essentially identical to the Tang L in length, wheelbase, and height, though it is slightly smaller in terms of body width and track width.

In terms of powertrain, the vehicle has currently been filed with a single-motor configuration featuring the TZ205QYD drive motor; it delivers a maximum power output of 300 kW and has a rated top speed of 250 km/h. Additionally, according to the 33rd batch of the catalogue of new energy vehicle models eligible for purchase tax exemptions, the vehicle will offer battery packs with capacities of 88.682 kWh and 105.792 kWh, providing CLTC-rated pure electric ranges of 730 km, 830 km, and 850 km. It is also expected to be equipped with the Yunlian-A intelligent air body control system, featuring dual-chamber air suspension and intelligent road-surface preview capabilities that allow for rapid responses to changing road conditions.
