Upgraded features and Chengdu Motor Show debut: Official images of the 2027 BMW X3 released.

On August 17, BMW released official images of the 2027 BMW X3, the brand's mid-size SUV. The vehicle features adjustments to styling details and introduces new options, such as the Dune Grey exterior paint color. It is set to make its debut at the 2026 Chengdu Motor Show, opening on August 21, with deliveries commencing in September. For reference, the current BMW X3 lineup consists of four trim levels.

The 2027 BMW X3 features refined exterior details, including a new M-style front grille with horizontal slats that gives the front end a wider, lower, and sportier stance. The addition of "Dune Grey" paint—derived from M Performance models—complements the M-style wheel design to further accentuate its distinctive, personalized style.

In terms of the interior, the vehicle retains the design style of the current model while incorporating detailed upgrades. Specifically, the dashboard on the passenger side features new stitching accents, and the interior color scheme has been unified to create a cleaner look with simplified seat color layering. Additional features include ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and AI voice interaction capabilities (the BMW AI Personal Assistant, powered by a cloud-based large language model, can answer vehicle-related questions regarding status, maintenance schedules, and function settings). Notably, the AI Personal Assistant is set to receive a new round of upgrades starting in late August, which will be rolled out to all models equipped with BMW Operating System 9.

In terms of powertrain, the vehicle is expected to retain the 2.0T engine from the current model, offering two output configurations depending on the trim level: maximum power outputs of 190 hp and 258 hp, with peak torque figures of 310 Nm and 400 Nm, respectively.
