We have learned from official sources that the new Ford Explorer is set to officially launch on July 6. As a model-year update, the vehicle features optimized exterior details and interior configurations, while the powertrain remains unchanged.

In terms of exterior design, the 2027 Explorer features a redesigned front bumper and headlight assembly. The front end adopts a frameless-style grille—accentuated by horizontal elements and chrome trim—that integrates seamlessly with the headlights on both sides; it is also expected to feature a full-width "star-ring" light bar, enhancing the vehicle's cohesive look and high-tech appeal. Regarding dimensions, the new model measures 5,064 mm in length, 2,004 mm in width, and 1,790 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,025 mm, maintaining its positioning as a mid-to-large SUV.

Regarding the interior and features, the 2027 Explorer incorporates several practical optimizations to the center console area. The original storage compartment has been replaced by a 50W fast-charging port for mobile phones, and the cup holder cover has been removed to enhance daily usability. In terms of the infotainment system, Baidu Maps has been replaced by Amap (Gaode Maps), though the system retains the Qualcomm 8155 chip without an upgrade. Additionally, the vehicle features an upgraded "540-degree transparent chassis" function, adds ventilation to the second-row seats, and switches the second-row climate control panel to a more intuitive toggle-style adjustment.

In terms of powertrain, the 2027 Explorer will continue to be equipped with the CAF484WQMA 2.3T turbocharged engine manufactured by Changan Ford Automobile Co., Ltd., delivering a maximum power output of 213 kW; regarding the transmission system, it will—consistent with the current model—feature a 10-speed automatic transmission with manual mode.
