Welcome to Hebei Opportunity Co., Ltd
On January 21, we learned from BMW officials that its medium-sized SUV, the new BMW iX3 long wheelbase version, will make its debut at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show in April and will be launched in the second half of the year. According to previous news, the car will be equipped with Momenta's full-scene pilot driving assistance function that is suitable for local travel scenarios, covering highway and urban road scenes, and will introduce BMW's customized Large Language Model (LLM) technology jointly developed with Alibaba.

In terms of appearance, the car draws on the design of the BMW VNKX concept car. The details on the front face are also derived from the BMW 1500 model. The classic double-kidney grille with vertical strips is officially called "Angel Wings" from the previous chrome-plated decorative style, giving it strong visual recognition.

Its rear does not use a through-type taillight design, and the central recessed part is very similar to the front face design of BMW M models. The design style of the rear surround echoes the overall front face, and the shape of the bottom diffuser is designed to highlight the sense of movement, with many angular carvings. Of course, all of this is to serve aerodynamics, and as a new energy vehicle, it is to reduce the wind resistance of the body as much as possible. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4780/1895/1635mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2895mm. In order to improve the rear seating space of the future domestic version, the wheelbase is expected to be lengthened by 100mm, and the rear seat cushions will also be lengthened accordingly.

In the interior, the new BMW iX3 long-wheelbase model will introduce the BMW Panoramic View Bridge. The driver can obtain corresponding information from top to bottom from the 3D head-up display, eye-level panoramic display and central control screen. This visual cone concept aims to give drivers different information needs through different screens. At the same time, the central control screen adopts a special-shaped design and is built with a new generation operating system
According to previous official introductions, the eye-level panoramic display system uses ultra-close projection technology to form a nearly 40-inch, 4K resolution projection screen on the windshield, with a contrast ratio of up to 100,000:1. It also has a patented nano-coated windshield, which can also perfectly allow drivers to see projection-related information clearly when wearing polarized sunglasses. The central screen and passenger screen in this area can support 6 module function display adjustments. Users can customize them according to their own needs. The long wheelbase version will have more application expansions available.

In terms of intelligence, the BMW iX3 long wheelbase version adopts BMW's customized Large Language Model (LLM) technology jointly developed with Alibaba. DeepSeek's AI large model capabilities and AI agents are introduced into the cockpit. At the same time, the system supports digital services such as Hongmeng Ecosystem and HUAWEI HiCar. At the assisted driving level, it will also work with the previously announced Momenta to develop assisted driving solutions that adapt to China's road environment and driving behavior.

In terms of power, it integrates the sixth-generation BMW eDrive electric drive technology. The new car is built on an 800V platform, equipped with a 108-degree large cylindrical battery and a front asynchronous and rear-excitation synchronous motor. The motor has a maximum power of 345kW, a peak torque of 645 N·m, and accelerates from 0-100km/h in 4.9 seconds. In terms of battery life, the car's CLTC pure electric range is 900 kilometers, the official power consumption is 15.1kWh/100km, and it can replenish energy for 427 kilometers in 10 minutes.
