2025 Guangzhou Auto Show Preview: Leapmotor Lafa5 to be launched on 27 November

  Recently, Autohome's front-line reporting team captured the brand-new compact pure electric car from Leapmotor, the Leapmotor Lafa5, before the Guangzhou Auto Show began. The Lafa5 has already started pre-sales, offering five versions with a pre-sale price range of 105,800 to 131,800 yuan. The new car is built on the LEAP 3.5 architecture B platform, and its pure electric range under CLTC conditions can reach 515-605 km.

  In terms of appearance, the vehicle adopts a family-style design, with high brand recognition. Whether it is the grille or the through-type LED, it can be recognised at a glance as a Leapmotor. The new car's front bumper design features large air intakes on both sides to enhance the overall sporty feel. In terms of configuration, the front bottom of the car is equipped with an active closing air intake grille, and the roof has a LiDAR. Regarding colour, the new car offers six paint options for consumers: Electric Yellow, Rapid Grey, Starry Night Blue, Morgan Pink, Galaxy Silver and Metallic Black.

  In terms of body dimensions, the new car measures 4430/1880/1520mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2735mm. In detail, the new car is equipped with frameless doors, hidden door handles, and the display model also features smoked wheels to enhance the sporty feel. The rear is layered, with an integrated roof spoiler housing a high-mounted brake light above and the current mainstream full-width tail lights below.

The interior design is simple, featuring a full range of black matte gunmetal chrome trims paired with large areas of soft-touch materials, balancing sportiness and comfort. For the base models, two colour options are available: Speed Purple and Shadow Grey, while the high-end models adopt a Racing Grey theme, with the roof and seats made of genuine leather combined with faux suede ultra-fibre, embossed with track patterns and Lafa5 exclusive fonts. In terms of power, the new car will be offered in two power versions. The high-power version has an output of 160 kW and a top speed of 170 km/h, while the low-power version has 132 kW and a top speed of 160 km/h. Regarding the battery, two options will be provided depending on the configuration: the smaller battery offers a CLTC electric range of 515 km, and the larger battery provides 605 km (CLTC cycle).
