On October 23, the appearance of the Xpeng X9 extended-range version of the actual car was unveiled. The new car is still a 7-seater medium and large MPV, and the overall appearance design has some adjustments compared to the current pure electric X9. As a range-extended model, the new car uses Xiaopeng Kunpeng's super range-extended technology and is equipped with a 1.5T range extender model DAM15NTE with a maximum power of 110 kilowatts and a WLTC comprehensive fuel consumption of 0.15L/100km. The new car uses an 800V high-voltage platform and is equipped with 5C ultra-fast charging. It has a pure electric cruising range of 452 kilometers under CLTC conditions and a comprehensive cruising range of 1,602 kilometers. It is reported that the new car will be officially launched in the fourth quarter.

From the appearance, the new car still uses a split light set design, and is also equipped with a three-section LED daytime running light set. The front apron adopts a closed grille, with vertically arranged ventilation openings on both sides. The shapes on both sides are concave styles, and the lower part of the front apron is equipped with a double-segment heat dissipation opening with an active grille. In addition, the new car also adds a new exterior color called "Aurora Blue".

From the side, the overall shape of the new car still maintains the futuristic design style of the Xpeng X9 Mecha. The hidden A, B, C, and D pillars create the visual sense of a suspended roof. Concave ribs are used under the doors, with expanded wheel eyebrows and 20-inch dense-spoke wheels. The overall combination gives the vehicle a good sense of fashion. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 5316/1988/1785mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 3160mm.

At the rear of the car, the new car uses a large-size borderless rear window glass, and the fastback design also makes the new car look more sporty. The taillight group adopts a through-type design, with Xiaopeng's English LOGO embedded in it, and is processed to be luminous, making it highly recognizable after lighting up. In addition, the rear tailgate of the new car uses a layered Sanghi, paired with a dual-color rear surround, giving the rear of the car a good three-dimensional feel.

Compared with the pure electric version, the Xpeng X9 extended-range version has a fuel port on the left rear fender, and the right fender still has a fast/slow charging interface. According to information previously reported by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Xpeng X9 extended-range version will be equipped with a 1.5T extended-range power system, equipped with a 63.3kWh battery pack + 60L fuel tank, with a cruising range of 452 kilometers under CLTC conditions, a comprehensive cruising range of 1,602 kilometers, and a fuel consumption of 6.4L/100km. It is also worth mentioning that although the extended-range model has an additional fuel tank, it still retains the rear-wheel steering function.
