Official images of the BMW Concept 7 Protection have recently been released. Positioned as an entry-level concept for a specialized armored vehicle following the launch of the new BMW 7 Series, it is highly likely to enter mass production. Within BMW's product lineup, this concept offers a lower level of protection than the standard armored version of the 7 Series; the concept itself is based on the BMW M760e.

The BMW Concept 7 Protection moves away from offering extreme armored protection against high-risk threats; instead, it targets private individuals, corporations, and institutions, meeting their needs for defense against everyday and unpredictable risks while preserving the vehicle's discreet appearance, passenger comfort, and the authentic driving characteristics of the BMW 7 Series.

Building upon the design of the latest model, the vehicle features a concealed, integrated armor structure; the lightweight armor is discernible only by the widened black borders around the window glass. The protection system incorporates reinforced safety glass, with bullet-resistant steel plating and fiber-composite components integrated into the doors. Critical areas—including the windows, doors, body panel interfaces, rear quarter windows, roof, and front and rear bulkheads—are all included in the protective design. A protective layer has been added beneath the panoramic glass sunroof, and the sunshade is permanently locked in the closed position. The vehicle is capable of withstanding specific handgun ammunition and is equipped with an intercom system that allows for external communication while windows and doors remain fully closed; a dedicated attack-alert system comes as a standard security feature.

The interior retains BMW’s signature luxury appointments, featuring bespoke white leather upholstery, Alcantara trim, and a Carbon Black M-specific headliner to create a premium cabin atmosphere, while heat-insulating glass and electric sunshades ensure privacy. A newly added bespoke rear center console integrates a folding table, wireless charging, and an onboard refrigerator.
