Debuting on September 14th! Positioned as a pure electric van! Spy photos of the Kia PV7 have been released!

Recently, overseas media outlets released spy photos of the Kia PV7. Positioned as a versatile all-electric van suitable for both family and business use, this vehicle can be seen as a larger version of the PV5. Like the PV5, the PV7 belongs to the PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) series and is built on Hyundai Motor Group's e-GMP.S platform. The PV7 boasts a WLTP range of 350km and is equipped with V2L external power supply functionality. The vehicle will debut at the Norwegian Commercial Vehicle Show on September 14th, with pre-orders expected to begin later this year.

In terms of appearance, although the spy photos show the vehicle camouflaged, the general outline of the new car reveals a design style consistent with the PV5, featuring a futuristic and minimalist aesthetic. The PV7 will adopt a short front end design, and the A-pillar triangular window design is consistent with the PV5, reducing blind spots and improving safety. Only part of the headlight area at the front is not covered by camouflage. The new car's headlights differ from the PV5's design, featuring a more horizontal layout and a position closer to the center of the front.

The PV7's exterior rearview mirrors differ significantly from the PV5's, featuring a larger vertical dimension for improved longitudinal visibility. The new car incorporates a dual-lens camera within the windshield and a millimeter-wave radar in the center of the front grille, suggesting the possibility of a Level 2 autonomous driving system.

The PV7's side profile is largely the same as the PV5, with differences in the side window glass outline. It is expected to be equipped with dual power sliding doors, and the sliding door glass has a visor that divides the light-transmitting area of the glass into two parts. The wheel design of the spy photos is similar to that of the PV5, featuring a minimalist futuristic style. The PV7's cargo area is significantly longer than that of the PV5, indicating that it will have greater passenger and cargo space.

The PV7 features vertically oriented taillights, a high-mounted brake light, and a rear wiper; the taillight design differs slightly from the PV5. The spy photos show the vehicle undergoing towing tests, suggesting the production version will likely include a tow hook.

According to foreign media reports, the PV7 is equipped with a 70kWh ternary lithium battery pack, offering a WLTP range of 350km. It also features V2L external discharge capability and has similar power output to the PV5. For reference, the PV5 offers 43.3kWh lithium iron phosphate and 51.5kWh/71.2kWh ternary lithium battery packs, with a maximum WLTP range of 412km. The standard version has a front-mounted single motor with a maximum power of 163 horsepower, while the low-power version has a front-mounted single motor with a maximum power of 122 horsepower.
