Recently, spy photos of the new Xiaomi SU7 Ultra have surfaced in China. Judging from the camouflaged images, the new car features a large rear spoiler with a rather exaggerated design. Previous reports suggested that the new car might be named SU7 Ultra Extreme and launched as a limited edition.

In terms of appearance, the new model retains the core body lines of the current model, continuing the smooth fastback styling on the side. The exterior rearview mirrors are equipped with carbon fiber housings, and a lidar is mounted on the roof. The front fenders retain the sensing hardware, and the intelligent driving hardware configuration remains the same as the current model. At the same time, the new model is fitted with newly designed lightweight wheels, paired with yellow fixed brake calipers, and continues to use the carbon ceramic braking system, maintaining a high-performance level in terms of hardware braking specifications.

The new model features a comprehensive upgrade to its aerodynamic kit, which is also the core change in this facelift. The front fascia incorporates numerous new aerodynamic structures while retaining the dual-vent design on the hood. Ventilation openings have been added to the front fenders and wheel arches to release internal air pressure, reduce front axle lift, and improve front wheel grip and stability. The front and rear fenders have been updated simultaneously, with an open structure behind the wheel arches, and the aerodynamic design closely aligns with the specifications of the Xiaomi SU7 prototype.

The most significant upgrade is to the rear of the vehicle. The test car is equipped with a large gooseneck rear spoiler, with significantly widened endplates on both sides and a layered structure. It is expected to be equipped with a DRS drag reduction system, which can balance cornering downforce and straight-line top speed performance. The new car will also be equipped with a larger and more functional rear diffuser to optimize the vehicle's ground effect and significantly improve cornering downforce and vehicle stability.

The current Xiaomi SU7 Ultra offers a number of high-performance configuration options, including three options: no rear spoiler, fixed carbon fiber rear spoiler, and three-level adjustable carbon fiber rear spoiler. It also offers the option of a perforated or closed carbon fiber front hood. The chassis supports air suspension and optional Bilstein EVO R racing coilovers.

In terms of power, Xiaomi is developing a brand-new four-motor powertrain with a maximum system power of 2054 horsepower. The new SU7 Ultra is expected to be equipped with this powertrain, with a maximum power exceeding 2000 horsepower, representing a significant improvement in performance parameters compared to the current 1548 horsepower three-motor system. For reference, the current model features a three-motor all-wheel-drive system with one front motor and two rear motors. The front motor is a V6 motor, and the rear motor consists of two V8 motors, with a combined maximum power of 1548 horsepower, a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 1.98 seconds (excluding start-up time), and a top speed exceeding 350km/h.
