Wheelbase extended by 150mm; new design language inside and out—spy shots of the all-new BYD Seagull revealed.

We recently obtained a spy shot of the all-new BYD Seagull, a compact car from the brand. The vehicle has already completed the filing process with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; it measures 4,205 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm—an increase of 425 mm in length and 150 mm in wheelbase compared to the current model.

Based on previously released filing images, the vehicle adopts a brand-new design style; a closed-off front grille combined with multiple angular lines and polygonal light clusters gives it a stylish appearance. In terms of dimensions, the all-new BYD Seagull measures 4,205 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. Compared to the model currently on sale, the body length has increased by 425 mm and the wheelbase by 150 mm, bringing the vehicle's overall size very close to that of the BYD Dolphin.

Viewed from the side, the vehicle features semi-concealed door handles, glossy black wheels, and a design that hides the B, C, and D pillars, creating a distinctively sporty look. At the rear, it adopts a new taillight design and incorporates an aggressive rear diffuser trim panel, further enhancing the vehicle's sporty character.

The interior also adopts a brand-new design style, with a greater emphasis on storage capacity. The center console features a larger display screen; while the dedicated instrument cluster has been removed, some physical buttons remain. A wireless charging pad is included, and the lower section houses a spacious central storage area. The new two-spoke steering wheel boasts a more minimalist design.

In terms of powertrain, the all-new BYD Seagull remains a pure electric vehicle, equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous drive motor (model TZ164XYB) manufactured by Zhengzhou BYD Auto Co., Ltd., delivering a maximum power output of 95 kW. Regarding the battery, it utilizes a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, with both the cells and the assembly produced by Shaoxing FinDreams Battery Co., Ltd.
