Spy photos of the new Hyundai i20 have surfaced, revealing a completely new design language and the addition of a pure electric powertrain.

Recently, heavily camouflaged test vehicles of the new Hyundai i20 were spotted in Europe. The new car is compact and has undergone many changes compared to the current model.

In terms of appearance, the new car adopts Hyundai's latest design language, with an overall shape that departs from the current model's sporty style, instead presenting a square and rugged visual effect. Although the front of the test vehicle is still covered by black cladding, according to previous information, the headlights and daytime running lights of the new car may adopt a horizontally integrated layout, and the shape of the light clusters has been redesigned. However, it is currently impossible to determine whether the light-emitting units will actually extend across the entire front.

At the rear, the new car features taillights with a different design than the current model. Furthermore, the traditional triangular window in the rear has been replaced with a more robust, integrated structure.

Inside, the new car features a dual-screen design with a digital instrument cluster and a central infotainment screen, enhancing both its technological feel and overall aesthetic. In terms of powertrain, it's reported that the new model will debut with a pure electric version, expected to utilize a 400V electrical system. To maintain an affordable price, it's highly unlikely to be equipped with the higher-end E-GMP platform. Notably, the leaked interior images still show a manual transmission, indicating that a gasoline version will continue to be offered. Furthermore, the high-performance i20 N may be upgraded to a 1.6T hybrid system, improving power output while further reducing emissions.
