The FAW Yueyi 08, a flagship sedan featuring both range-extended and pure electric powertrains, will begin pre-sales on May 29th.

We have learned from official sources that FAW Yueyi 08 will begin pre-sales on May 29th. Positioned as a mid-size car and belonging to the R series, it is the brand's flagship sedan. It will offer both pure electric and range-extended powertrains and will be equipped with an 8295P cockpit chip and an intelligent driver assistance system co-developed with Horizon Robotics.

Looking back at the new vehicle, its exterior features a completely new design style, with a closed front grille paired with "galaxy waterfall" headlights, giving it a strong visual identity. The vehicle will also offer different lidar modules depending on the configuration, and will be equipped with an intelligent driver assistance system co-developed with Horizon Robotics.

Viewed from the side, the vehicle features frameless, low-drag side mirrors; semi-flush, low-drag door handles; and frameless power-closing doors. These elements are complemented by 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels and orange brake calipers. In terms of dimensions, the new model measures 4,920 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,475 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. At the rear, the vehicle adopts a full-width taillight cluster and is equipped with a power-operated hatchback-style tailgate; this design not only enhances the visual layering of the vehicle but also improves its cargo-carrying capacity.

The interior features a wraparound cockpit design characterized by a minimalist aesthetic, combining a full-digital instrument cluster with a floating central touchscreen; the center console island is equipped with wireless mobile phone charging capabilities. The new vehicle is powered by FAW Bestune’s proprietary "Ruyi Cockpit" system, which boasts rapid interactive response times, visual fidelity comparable to an iPad, and a superior audio experience, while also debuting an AIGC-powered "Digital Lifeform." Furthermore, the vehicle is equipped with the latest generation of intelligent driving assistance systems.

In terms of power, the Yueyi 08 offers two power options: pure electric and range-extended. The pure electric version uses a single motor with a maximum power of 202 kW; the range-extended version is equipped with a 1.5L engine with a maximum power of 70 kW, matched with a 27.8kWh battery, and has a pure electric range of 178km under WLTC conditions.
