The all-new flagship models, Volvo S100 and XC100, may be produced at the Daqing production base.
We recently learned from relevant sources that the Volvo S100 and Volvo XC100 may be produced at the Daqing production base, which is currently producing models such as the Volvo S90 and S60.
It is understood that the Volvo S100 and XC100 have internal codenames of V561 and V556 respectively. In Volvo's production system, "V" indicates that the vehicle is based on the new generation architecture such as SPA2, and the first digit "5" indicates a mid-to-large-sized vehicle. Therefore, it is expected that the models to be launched will be a brand-new mid-to-large-sized sedan and SUV, rather than the previously rumored large vehicle/SUV. However, it is certain that the new car will be positioned above the S90 and XC90, challenging the higher-end market.
Currently, Volvo's Daqing plant mainly produces mid-to-large and large sedans and SUVs, including the EX90, ES90, S90, and S60. Some models are sold overseas, and the plant has the capacity to produce new mid-to-large and large vehicles.
